These terms are the agreement between you and Cuelens for using the app and this website. By downloading or using Cuelens, you agree to them. Please read them; they are meant to be clear.

The license we give you

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Cuelens on devices you own or control, for your own presenting, recording, and note taking. You may not copy, resell, rent, or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except where the law permits, or remove its notices. We keep all rights not expressly granted here.

Using Cuelens responsibly

Cuelens is built to help you deliver your own words well: in talks, videos, demos, and calls. You agree to use it lawfully and honestly, and not to use it to impersonate someone else, to deceive people about who is speaking or whether a statement is your own, or in any setting where an unseen prompter is prohibited by the rules that apply to you (for example an exam or a regulated assessment). You are responsible for how you use it and for the content you write.

The AI features and your own key

The AI features require an API key from a third party provider that you supply. Your use of that provider is governed by its own terms, and you are responsible for your account with them and for any usage charges they bill. AI output can be inaccurate or unsuitable; review anything before you rely on it or say it on camera. Cuelens does not guarantee any particular result from the AI.

Subscriptions and billing

Cuelens offers a free tier and a paid Cuelens Pro subscription. Paid subscriptions are sold through our payments provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and bills you in advance. Unless cancelled, a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then current price. You can manage or cancel it at any time from the customer portal Lemon Squeezy provides, using the link in your receipt email or the manage option in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the current period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable, though we will consider reasonable requests sent to support@cuelens.app.

Beta software

While Cuelens is in beta, it is provided for evaluation and may change, break, or be interrupted. Features may be added or removed, and data formats may change between builds. Do not rely on a beta build for anything you cannot afford to lose, and keep your own copies of important scripts.

Your content

Your scripts and notes are yours. We claim no ownership of them and, because they stay on your device, we do not access them. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you use with Cuelens.

Intellectual property

Cuelens, its name, and its design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not give you any right to our trademarks or branding.

Disclaimers

Cuelens is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it will meet every requirement. The invisibility of the teleprompter to screen capture depends on the operating system and cannot be guaranteed against a separate camera pointed at your screen or against future platform changes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of Cuelens. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

You may stop using Cuelens at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms. On termination, the license ends and you should remove the app; sections that by their nature should survive will survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date above and, for material changes, note them here. Continuing to use Cuelens after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the developer's place of residence, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law gives you other rights.
